PURPOSE: A heating furnace having a lower door and a control method thereof are provided to reduce energy loss and minimize energy consumption of a heating furnace by regulating the height of the lower door according to the height of an exit device which takes a material from the heating furnace. CONSTITUTION: A heating furnace comprises a body, an upper door, a lower door(120), an upper door driving unit, a lower door driving unit(130), and a control unit(40). The body has an exit hole which is opened and closed by the upper and lower doors. The upper and lower door driving units move the upper and lower doors up and down, respectively. The control unit controls the operations of the upper and lower door driving units. A displacement sensor(121) is provided in the lower door to detect a moving object passing through the upper side of the lower door and measure the distance between the top of the lower door and the moving object. The displacement sensor transmits the measurement value to the control unit so that the control unit controls the operations of the upper and lower door driving units according to the measurement value. |
