A Novel Heat Shock Factor From Hansenula Polymorpha Capable of Controlling Heat Stress Response and Use of the Same

PURPOSE: A HSP(HpHSF1) derived from Hansenula polymorpha is provided to improve thermal stress resistance and to produce ethanol. CONSTITUTION: A nucleic acid encoding Hansenula polymorpha heat shock factor 1(HpHSF1) or a fragment polypeptide thereof has an amino acid sequence of sequence number 1. A host cell is transformed with a vector containing the nucleic acid. The host cell is yeast. A method for producing alcohol comprises a step of culturing the transformed host cells.
