PURPOSE: A theft prevention device for an automobile equipped with a smart key and control method thereof are provided to prevent the driving of an automobile through blocking hydraulic control in case of a driver gets out of an automobile after parking while running state. CONSTITUTION: A theft prevention device for an automobile equipped with a smart key comprises a smart key module(10), an engine ECU(Electronic Control Unit) module(20), a shift sensing unit(30), a parking brake sensing unit(40), a TCU(Transmission Control Unit) module(70), a control unit(50), and a warning unit(60). The smart key module performs the authentication of a smart key. The control unit receives the operation state of an engine from the engine ECU module and the smart key authentication state from the smart key module. The control unit outputs warning signal in case of a smart key is not detected and blocking hydraulic control through controlling the TCU module in case of parking mode is released. The warning unit alarms robbery in case of the warning signal is output from the control unit. |
