<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a gap between two adjacent segment electrodes from being viewed as a dark area, even in a case of using polymer dispersion type liquid crystals for a liquid crystal layer. <P>SOLUTION: The display device comprises: a liquid crystal layer 28 formed from the polymer dispersion type liquid crystals provided between a first transparent substrate 21 and a second transparent substrate 23; a transparent character electrode 22a formed on the first substrate so that a predetermined area turns into a positive pattern for predetermined display information, and a transparent non-character electrode 22b formed on the first substrate so that a predetermined area turns into a negative pattern for the display information, both of which form the identical first layers; a transparent common electrode 24 formed on the second substrate so as to face the character electrode 22a and non-character electrode 22b; and a transparent auxiliary electrode 29a formed on the first substrate so as to extend along a gap between the character electrode and non-character electrode. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
