PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an α-SiAlON fluorescent material, and to provide a method and apparatus for manufacturing the same.

SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing a luminescence material having an α-SiAlON includes: a step of providing a precursor of the α-SiAlON; a step of mixing an igniting agent with the precursor to obtain a reaction mixture; and a step of combusting the igniting agent to trigger a reaction of the reaction mixture so as to obtain the luminescence material.
