<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication device reducing communication speed for communicating with another communication device before being shifted to a power saving mode. <P>SOLUTION: A printer 100 includes a control unit 102 for instructing a LAN control unit 103 which communication speed to choose for communication. When it is determined that a power mode supplying electric power to the control unit 102 is shifted to a power mode not supplying electric power to the control unit 102, the control unit 102 instructs the LAN control unit 103 to reduce the communication speed, and a power supply unit 105 blocks power supply to the control unit 102 after the instruction to reduce the speed is given. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
