The process of depositing a metal alloy coating on a substrate of a metal strip using a steam generator, comprises regulating a flow speed of each metal steam at an inlet of a mixing device (14) so that the flowing speed is less than a factor 50 at sonic speed, and independently adjusting the concentration of each metal during mixing of vapors for depositing on the substrate. The steam generator comprises a vacuum chamber (6) in the form of an enclosure, and a unit to ensure a state of depression with respect to an external medium and provided with an inlet and an outlet of the substrate. The process of depositing a metal alloy coating on a substrate of a metal strip using a steam generator, comprises regulating a flow speed of each metal steam at an inlet of a mixing device (14) so that the flowing speed is less than a factor 50 at sonic speed, and independently adjusting the concentration of each metal during mixing of vapors for depositing on the substrate. The steam generator comprises a vacuum chamber (6) in the form of an enclosure, and a unit to ensure a state of depression with respect to an external medium and provided with an inlet and an outlet of the substrate. The enclosure includes an ejector head (3) for vapor deposition to create a steam jet of metal alloy at sonic speed in a specific direction and perpendicular to the substrate surface. The ejector is sealed and connected with the mixing device connected in upstream respectively to two crucibles and containing different metals in liquid form. Each crucible is connected by a pipe (4, 4') to the mixer device. The deposition is carried out at a velocity is 10-50 m/s. INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are included for: (1) a steam generator for depositing a metal alloy coating on a substrate; (2) an installation for depositing a metal alloy coating on a substrate; and (3) a process for fabricating an installation for depositing a metal alloy coating on a substrate. |
