The present invention prevents the outflow of an operating fluid from a master cylinder toward a brake cylinder when a brake pedal is not operated. Two compression chambers (72, 70) of a master cylinder (62) and brake cylinders (42FL, FR) of left and right front wheels (2, 4) are directly connected by master passages (74, 76). Master shutoff valves (194FL, FR) that are normally closed electromagnetic on-off valves are provided in the master passages (74, 76), respectively. As a result, when a brake pedal (60) is not operated and no electric current is supplied to solenoids of the master shutoff valves (194FL, FR), the compression chambers (72, 70) and the brake cylinders (42FL, FR) are shut off, and the outflow of an operating fluid from the compression chambers (72, 70), that is, housing chambers (82, 80) of a master reservoir (78) to the brake cylinders (42FL, FR) is prevented. |
