Disclosed is a method for managing a terminal device, including: acquiring a description file of a UPnP device management data model of a UPnP device in a home network, with the UPnP device management data model being organized by the UPnP device according to the data model defined by a remote management protocol; establishing a data model meeting the CWMP requirements for the UPnP device according to the description file; sending the information about the data model of the UPnP device meeting the CWMP requirements to an ACS; receiving a management command of the ACS toward the data model of the UPnP device; and converting the management command to a device management command of the UPnP and sending the same to the UPnP device. Also provided are a proxy device and a system, which can avoid the model conversion of the data model for the UPnP device by the home gateway, relieving the burden of the home gateway.
