PURPOSE: An AP(Access Point) positioning system and method thereof are provided to transmit accurate information and to enable a user to rapidly access to desired information by increasing the location accuracy of an AP. CONSTITUTION: Plural mobile apparatuses(20) include an GPS(Global Positioning System) module(21), a WLAN(Wireless Local Area Network) module(22), and a calculation unit(23). The GPS module acquires location information. The WLAN module accesses to an AP. The calculation unit calculates an effective distance. A location information server(30) grasps the location of the mobile apparatuses based on the location information of the mobile apparatuses. The location information server determines the existence area of the AP based on the effective distance.
