摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an electrolyte membrane-electrode assembly of high quality with efficiency by reliably and easily removing wrinkles caused at the peripheral portion of a solid polymer electrolyte membrane extending outward from an electrode catalyst layer in a simple process. <P>SOLUTION: An electrolyte membrane-electrode assembly 10 comprises a catalyst coated membrane 40 in which electrode catalyst layers 36a and 38a are provided on both sides of a solid polymer electrolyte membrane 34, and gas diffusion layers 36c and 38c are laminated on both sides of the catalyst coated membrane 40. The method for manufacturing the electrolyte membrane-electrode assembly 10 comprises the steps of removing wrinkles caused at the peripheral end portion of the solid polymer electrolyte membrane 34 by moving a heated pressing member 52 applying pressure to the catalyst coated membrane 40 outward from the inner portion of the catalyst coated membrane 40, and assembling the gas diffusion layers 36c and 38c to both sides of the catalyst coated membrane 40 from which the wrinkles are removed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT
