<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method for a liquid crystal display element including a high-contrast polymer ferroelectric liquid crystal. <P>SOLUTION: A liquid crystal display element includes: a first substrate and a second substrate that face each other; a first alignment film and a second alignment film provided for surfaces of the first substrate and the second substrate that face each other, respectively, and aligned by a rubbing method; and a liquid crystal layer formed by enclosing a liquid crystal material including polymer ferroelectric liquid crystal between the first substrate provided with the first alignment film and the second substrate provided with the second alignment film. The first alignment film and the second alignment film are baked at a baking temperature of 230-350°C in a nitrogen atmosphere or air atmosphere. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
