<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface-coated cutting tool whose hard coated layer exhibits superior thermal resistance and deposition resistance in high speed cutting work of a hard-to-cut material. <P>SOLUTION: The surface-coated cutting tool is formed with a hard coated layer composed of two layers of a lower layer of an A layer and an upper layer of a B layer, or an alternative lamination layer of the A layer and the B layer, on a surface of a tool substrate, wherein (a) the A layer is composed of a complex nitride layer of Al and Cr(and M) which satisfies a composition formula: (Al<SB POS="POST">1-α-β</SB>Cr<SB POS="POST">α</SB>M<SB POS="POST">β</SB>)N(where, M represents one or two or more kinds of addition ingredients selected from groups 4a, 5a, and 6a elements Si, B, and Y in the periodic table, excluding Al, and: 0.45≤α≤0.75, 0.01≤β≤0.25, by atomic ratio), and (b) the B layer is composed of a complex nitride of Zr and Y which satisfies a composition formula: (Zr<SB POS="POST">1-γ</SB>Y<SB POS="POST">γ</SB>)N(whereat, 0.01≤γ≤0.15, by atomic ratio). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
