<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique capable of rapidly cooling molten metal after injection without excessively cooling the molten metal poured into a sleeve before the injection. <P>SOLUTION: There is provided a casting apparatus that injects the molten metal poured into the sleeve into the inside of a die by a plunger tip. The casting apparatus includes: a cooling medium circulation passage formed in the plunger tip; a pump for circulating a cooling medium through the cooling medium circulation passage; a flow rate adjusting unit for adjusting the flow rate of the cooling medium flowing through the cooling medium circulation passage; and a controller for controlling the flow rate adjusting unit so that the flow rate of the cooling medium flowing through the cooling medium circulation passage is increased after the molten metal injection compared to before the molten metal injection. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
