<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correct a read error without using an alternative sector processing command in an inexpensive mirror disk apparatus such as an ATA specification. <P>SOLUTION: In an HDD 4, when firmware 41 makes a reservation so as to perform alternative sector processing in next data write on a sector which incurs a read error on a hard disk 42. Then, when a normal data read processing section 33 of a control unit 3 instructs the firmware 41 to read normal data out of the HDD 5, firmware 51 reads data of the same sector as the sector in which the read error has occurred on the hard disk 42, from a hard disk 52. When an overwrite processing section 34 instructs the firmware 41 to overwrite the read-out data on the HDD 4 where the error has occurred, the firmware 41 overwrites the read-out data in the sector reserved in the hard disk 42 and executes alternative sector processing. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
