PURPOSE: A method for predicting channeling of a blast furnace is provided to reduce the number of items for prediction by using the distribution ratio of indexes. CONSTITUTION: A method for predicting channeling of a blast furnace is as follows. Ventilation resistance indexes are calculated as the pressures measured in the upper, middle, and lower parts of the blast furnace(100). The distribution ratio of the ventilation resistance indexes for the upper, middle, and lower parts of the blast furnace is output in real time(200). The change rate per hour of the average distribution ratio is calculated for a fixed time before a reference time of each distribution ratio of the ventilation resistance indexes(300). The ventilation resistance indexes are multiplied by respective weighted values and channeling is determined based on the total sum of the three values(400).
