Heat shield

A heat shield and a heat shield assembly (72) for protecting components from heat are disclosed. The heat shield includes a shroud (12) shaped to cover the component (24), the shroud having heat reflective layers (14, 16) and a heat insulating layer (18). The shroud (12) has a clip (20) with resilient arms (22) for removable engagement with the component and second attachment means in the form of a flexible tab, or of a tether (74), or of a filamentary loop, or of a hinge member extends from the shroud to attach it to a wiring harness (30) to form an assembly connectable to the component. The second attachment means (74) allows relative movement between the shroud (12) and the wiring harness (30).
