The detent has actuator (4) with steering column carrier (6), clamping assembly (11) and clamping guides (12,13,15,16) that are provided in parallel to vertical adjustable direction (8) of steering column. The clamping assembly locks steering column at respective position along the vertical adjustable direction of steering column, by fastening the clamping guides with the steering column carrier. A pressure spring (10) for compensating the weight force of steering column during adjustment, is provided between the clamping assembly and clamping guides.
