The method involves arranging two inductive sense elements adjacent to screw thread of screw spindles in housing. The inductive sense elements are used for measuring rotational angle of the screw spindles propelled by flow of liquid medium. Phase-added analog signals (S1,S2) produced by two inductive sense elements during rotation of screw spindle in constant direction are combined with one another using a signal processing device to produce resultant signal (R). Flow rate of medium is measured from time pattern obtained from resultant signal. An independent claim is included for flowmeter.
