The method involves integrating two Ethernetdata frames e.g. profinet data frames, to Ethernettelegrams e.g. profinet telegrams, and transmitting the telegrams over a wireless communication network. The telegrams are compressed by removing padding bits from the data frames and/or from the individual telegram, and a medium access control header provided in the data frames is removed. The telegrams are transmitted by a Ethernetprotocol.
