The cover (1') has a sound-permeable grating region with a hole pattern, which comprises multiple holes in various sizes by a laser cutting using etching process and/or chemical erosion process. The hole pattern exhibits a minimum degree of permeability for a specific frequency range speaker. The grating region is made of plastic or metal sheet such as stainless steel metal sheet. The holes are formed as circular holes that are chamfered at an outer side of the cover, which is partially formed in curve shape. Multiple mounting tabs (5) are provided at an edge of the cover. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a speaker cover.
