The plant has a boom (5) arranged at a cross beam (2), and a mounting device (6) attached at the boom. An operating unit is attached to another boom (3) by another mounting device (4) such that the latter mounting device is fitted by manual operation, and the former mounting device is automatically emptied or fitted. The operating unit is attached to the former boom by the former mounting device such that the former mounting device is fitted by manual operation and the latter mounting device is automatically emptied or fitted. The mounting devices are formed as mechanical diggers, grippers e.g. excavator buckets. An independent claim is also included for a method for operating an earth-moving plant.
