It is described an arrangement for testing an electric power generation system, in particular a wind turbine system, connected to a utility grid operating at a grid voltage, the arrangement comprising: a input terminal (112, 212) for connecting the arrangement to an output terminal (115, 215) of the power generation system (114, 214); a grid terminal (102, 202) for connecting the arrangement to the utility grid (101, 201); a series coil (104, 204) connected between the input terminal and the grid terminal; a reference node (110, 210) for connecting to a reference electric potential, in particular a ground potential; and a shunt coil system (106,107,108,109; 206,207,208,209,209a) having a variable impedance, wherein the shunt coil system is connected between the input terminal and the reference node and the variable impedance is adjustable such that a voltage (U) at the input terminal (112, 212) selectively amounts to a predetermined first voltage (U1) or to a predetermined second voltage (U2) different form the first voltage, wherein the first voltage and the second voltage are both lower than the grid voltage. Further a corresponding method is described.
