The permanent magnet (1) comprises two annular elements (2) having same polarity, whose end faces are adjacent to each other. Each annular element comprises pole transition region (4) extending in axial direction and pole transition region (5) extending diagonally. A predetermined angle is formed between the diagonally extending pole transition region and longitudinal axis (3) of annular element. An independent claim is included for method for manufacturing annular permanent magnet.
