PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a non-woven fabric excellent in heat resistance by fusing a sheath core type conjugate fiber, and a method for producing the non-woven fabric excellent in heat resistance by fusing the sheath core type conjugate fiber without shrinking the fabric. SOLUTION: This non-woven fabric containing the sheath core type conjugate fiber consisting of a sheath component having >1×10<SP>-2</SP>dielectric tangent (10<SP>6</SP>Hz) and a core component having ≤1×10<SP>-2</SP>dielectric tangent (10<SP>6</SP>Hz) and having a higher melting point of the sheath component than that of the core component is provided by melt-bonding only the sheath component of the sheath core type conjugate fiber. The non-woven fabric containing the sheath component having >1×10<SP>-2</SP>dielectric tangent (10<SP>6</SP>Hz), and the core component having ≤1×10<SP>-2</SP>dielectric tangent (10<SP>6</SP>Hz) is produced by forming a fibrous web containing the sheath core type conjugate fiber having the higher melting point of the sheath component than that of the core component and then fusing only the sheath component of the sheath core type conjugate fiber by a high frequency dielectric heating.
