PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable appropriate setting of a scan range of a contrast AF in spite of existence of a variation in axial chrometic aberration. SOLUTION: The optical equipment 120 has control means 121, 136 which acquire focus evaluation values by moving a focusing lens in a scan range and move the focusing lens based on the focus evaluation values, and a light source discrimination means 135 which discriminates the light source to illuminate a subject. The control means changes the scan range according to the discrimination result of the light source.
