A roller bearing comprises an outer ring (32q), an inner ring (33q), a plurality of rollers (15r) arranged between the outer ring and the inner ring, and a plurality of retainer segments (11q) having a plurality of column parts (14q) extending in a direction along a shaft so as to form a pocket (13q) for holding the roller, and connection parts (15q) and (15r) extending in a circumferential direction so as to connect the plurality of column parts, and continuously lined with each other in the circumferential direction between the outer ring and the inner ring. The corners (23q,23r) of the connection part circumferential end faces are chamfered either radially or axially.
