PURPOSE: A liquid crystal element is provided to use a polymer wall in a liquid crystal layer, thereby stably maintain a twisted state in a first turning direction. CONSTITUTION: Orientation treatment is performed on a first substrate(1) and a second substrate(2). The first substrate faces the second substrate. A liquid crystal layer(3) is installed between one side of the first substrate and one side of the second substrate. A plurality of polymer walls(6) are installed in a layer-thickness direction in the liquid crystal layer. The liquid crystal layer comprises a chiral agent. The chiral agent has features for twisting a liquid crystal molecule in a second turning direction opposite to a first turning direction. |
