PURPOSE: A manufacturing method of optically pure 2,2-dihydroxy-1,1-binaphthyl-3-carboxylic acid is provided to mass-produce optically pure compounds by using chiral amine of low cost conveniently and economically. CONSTITUTION: A manufacturing method of optically pure 2,2-dihydroxy-1,1-binaphthyl-3-carboxylic acid comprises: a step of obtaining the salt of (S)-2,2-dihydroxy-1,1'-binaphthyl-3-carboxylic acid and (S)(-)-1-phenetylamine by reacting racemic 2,2-dihydroxy-1,1-binaphthyl-3-carboxylic acid with (S)(-)-1-phenetylamine under the presence of organic solvent, and additionally a step of manufacturing optically pure (S)-2,2-dihydroxy-1,1'-binaphthyl-3-carboxylic acid from the salt of (S)-2,2-dihydroxy-1,1'-binaphthyl-3-carboxylic acid and (S)(-)-1-phenetylamine.
