METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR DETECTING OF SIM CARD INSERTING IN A PORTABLE TERMINAL

PURPOSE: An insertion recognizing method of an SIM(Subscriber Identification Module) card and apparatus thereof are provided to sense the insertion of a SIM card without installing specific sensing apparatus at a portable terminal. CONSTITUTION: An SIM card is inserted into an SIM card connector(40). A control unit(10) consistently applies voltages to the SIM card connector and operating voltages a predetermined pin of the SIM card connector. The control unit previously confirms the change of a pattern which previously establishes the pin of the SIM card connector. When the pattern is changed, the control unit determines the insertion of the SIM card in the SIM card connector.
