PURPOSE: A weft thread sensing device is provided to easily match the light axis of a floodlight part and the light axis of a light receiving part. CONSTITUTION: A weft thread sensing device of a loom of a water spray type is a filler head(2) having a slit for receiving weft. The filler head has a floodlight part and a light receiving part which faces between the slit. The filler head comprises: a first head member(7) with the floodlight part; a second head member(8) with a light receiving part; a support member for supporting first and second members; and a position determining device which regulates the position.
