PURPOSE: A coast stop vehicle and a control method thereof are provided to reduce a delay of requesting for acceleration by rapidly generating driving power, in which drivers demand. CONSTITUTION: A coast stop vehicle comprises a transmission(4), a hydraulic pressure supply unit, a judgment unit of starting a coast stop, a coast stop control unit, a shift control unit, and a hydraulic pressure control unit. The transmission comprises a plurality of shift levels. The hydraulic pressure supply unit supplies hydraulic pressures to the transmission while an engine(1) is stopped. The judgment unit of starting a coast stop decides whether to start or stop the coast stop. If a condition of staring the coast stop, the coast stop control unit stops the engine. The coast stop control unit starts the engine if drivers input an acceleration request in operation of the coast stop. The shift control unit shifts down the transmission if the shift control unit receives the acceleration request from the drivers in the operation of the coast stop. The hydraulic pressure control unit supplies the hydraulic pressures to friction joining elements(32) after shifting in the operation of the coast stop. |
