PURPOSE: A sensor node positioning apparatus and method thereof are provided to position an apparatus including an IP(Internet Protocol) address in OMA(Open Mobile Alliance) by extending standardized protocols. CONSTITUTION: A reception modem(1404) receives a positioning request for a sensor node from an SUPL(Secure User Plane Location) agent. A positioning management unit(1410) interlocks with an LRS(Location Registration Server). The positioning management unit acquires routing information of the sensor node. A transmission modem(1414) transmits a positioning start request for the sensor node to a gateway mapped at the sensor node using the acquired routing information.
