PURPOSE: A method and an apparatus for detecting an OFDM(Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) signal are provided to improve data transfer rates by eliminating additional information transmission. CONSTITUTION: Sensing data is received through a single channel receiving RF(Radio Frequency) chain. A cyclostationary property of the sensing data is obtained. The presence of a signal is determined based on the cyclostationary property of the sensing data. The presence of the signal is determined by comparing the cyclostationary property of the sensing data with the cyclostationary property of an OFDM signal obtained from a parameter of an OFDM signal. The type of signal is determined according to the presence of the signal.
