PURPOSE: A cell proliferation sensitive market containing HMG17 gene or expression protein thereof is provided to enables diagnosis for various cancers. CONSTITUTION: A cell proliferation sensitive marker contains HMG17 gene encoding an amino acid sequence of sequence number 1 or expression protein thereof, and proteins regulated by HMG17 gene expression reduction. The proteins include EGF receptor(EGFR: sequence number 2), p-Erk1/2(Erk1/2: sequence number 3) or cyclin D1(sequence number 4). A kit for diagnosing cancer contains the HMG17 gene, expression vector thereof, and EGF receptor, p-Erk1/2 or cyclin D1.
