PURPOSE: A method for providing media content and a device therefor are provided to eliminate a need of selecting an application for playing media content on a start menu when media content of a different type are played while the media content is being played. CONSTITUTION: A display unit(102) displays media content corresponding to a different type or the same type on at least one area of a media wall screen. A receiving unit(101) receives a touch signal by a touch from at least one area. A control unit(103) distinguishes the touch signal. The control unit executes an application for playing selected media content. The control unit controls the playing of the selected media content.
