The device (1) has a guiding cage (16) pivotally mounted with respect to a turret about a pivot axis parallel to or coinciding with a pivoting axis of a weapon and against the action of a return spring (13). The cage includes side walls (8a, 8b) parallel to each other and spaced by a distance equal to the length of an ammunition belt (7), where the side walls are connected by guide rollers (10a, 10b). The pivot axis of the cage is placed outside a passage area (6b) of the belt, where the passage area is delimited by the rollers and the walls.
