IMPLEMENTING A SMART ANTENNA IN A WIRELESS LOCAL AREA NETWORK

PURPOSE: A smart antenna realization method and system thereof are provided to solve beam selection problems for active scanning methods and passive scanning methods by transmitting a beacon frame to an antenna. CONSTITUTION: A reception unit of a transmission and reception apparatus(2122) receives a probe request frame from a second station. The probe request frame includes first antenna ability information elements which display abilities of plural antennas in the second station. The transmission and reception apparatus transmits a probe response frame to the second station by responding to the probe request frame. The probe response frame includes second antenna ability information elements which display the antenna abilities of the antennas in a first station.
