PURPOSE: A system and a unit for controlling airfield lighting in sequence is provided to control flickering of a light source installed at a predetermined section of an airfield through a modular control unit in order to provide effective airfield lighting. CONSTITUTION: A system for controlling airfield lighting in sequence comprises a light source(100) and a control unit. The light source outputs light. The control unit generates flicker signals for flickering the light source, and controls the flickering of the light source in sequence accordingly as the power is supplied to or cut off from the light source based on the flicker signals. The control unit generates the flicker signals based on common frequency synchronizing signals using digital methods.
