DISPLAY SUBSTRATE AND DISPLAY APPARATUS HAVING THE SAME

PURPOSE: A display substrate and a display device with the same are provided to enable each pixel area to form a single domain by upper and lower electrodes formed on pixel areas, thereby yielding a high light transmitting rate. CONSTITUTION: An insulating substrate has a first pixel area and a second pixel area. The second pixel area is arranged in a first direction in the first pixel area. A first gate line is extended in a second direction crossing the first direction on an insulating substrate. A first lower electrode(122) and a second lower electrode(124) are formed on the first and second pixel areas respectively. A first upper electrode(132) is overlapped with the first lower electrode on the first pixel area. The first upper electrode has a first slit pattern extended in a third direction different from the first and second directions.
