The article (1) has a front cleaning part (2) and a rear absorbing part (3) defined between upper faces (2a, 3a) and lower faces (2b, 3b). The front and rear parts are arranged on two sides of a folding zone (4). The zone is arranged such that the front part is folded on the rear part. Attachment units (5) i.e. Velcro(RTM: Hoop and loop fasteners), are provided on the upper face of the front part. The attachment units cooperate with complementary attachment units (6) supported by a plate (7) of a support element (8) or side ends of another plate of another support element. The front and rear parts include textile cleaning layers (10, 11) comprising a group of loops or piles made of polyester microfibers and alternated with another group of loops or piles made of polyester textured yarns. The rear part comprises an absorbing layer made of polyether and polyurethane copolymer foam. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a cleaning assembly comprising a support element (2) a method for cleaning a given surface.
