<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging device capable of photographing an image with less deterioration of image quality even when using an electronic zoom. <P>SOLUTION: An imaging device includes: an imaging element for outputting a generated image signal on the basis of a read instruction; a drive control part for controlling a cycle of outputting a read instruction to the imaging element; a motion detection part for detecting a motion vector of an object by using image data of plural images; and a super-resolution processing part for synthesizing the plural images using the motion vector to perform super-resolution processing to generate new image data of the image. If the super-resolution processing part does not operate, the drive control part outputs a read instruction to the imaging element in a first cycle, obtaining one image. If the super-resolution processing part operates, the drive control part outputs read instructions to the imaging element in plural times in a second cycle shorter than the first cycle.
