<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cover glass for flat panel displays, which can simplify an edge treatment and is excellent in design, and to provide a method for producing the same. <P>SOLUTION: The method includes: a local heating step S3 of locally heating regions 1b to be the bent portions 33 of the cover glass 30 in the sheet glass 1; and a bending step S4 of forming the skirt portions 32 by bending the sheet glass 1 at the regions 1b to be the bent portions 33, during or after the local heating step. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
