<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for removing an existing pile that can easily remove an existing concrete pile in a circular column shape buried in the ground, making little vibrations and noises. <P>SOLUTION: A method for removing an existing pile uses a drilling machine that comprises a kelly-bar 9 and a kelly-bar driving device that gives the kelly-bar 9 a rotating force and a thrusting force. The inside of an existing concrete pile 14 is drilled up to a predetermined depth by a rotary drilling device that is coupled to the lower end portion of the kelly-bar 9, leaving the outer peripheral portion where reinforcing bars 15 are buried. After discharging the drilling waste to the ground surface, the lower end portion of a remaining cylindrical concrete pile 14a is severed by a severing device 20 that is coupled to the lower end portion of the kelly-bar, replacing the rotary drilling device. The upper end portion of the severed cylindrical concrete pile 14a is grabbed and then hoisted to a ground surface by a grabbing and hoisting device.
