<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of accurately predicting toner consumption by focusing on a printing state of a focused dot and the number of surrounding dots relative to the focused dot. <P>SOLUTION: In an image forming apparatus including means for converting input image data into a light emission control signal and means for sequentially operating light on the basis of the light emission control signal to irradiate an image carrier, and forming an electrostatic latent image on the image carrier, transferring a developer and fixing the image on a recording medium, comprises developer consumption count means for discriminating a printing state of a predefined focused dot and cumulatively totaling the number of printed dots around the focused dot, thereby reading a weighting value for the number of surrounding printed dots in accordance with the printing state of the focused dot and counting the consumption of the developer. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
