PASSING VEHICLE MONITORING SYSTEM AND VEHICLE MONITORING CAMERA

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a passing vehicle monitoring system and vehicle monitoring cameras which can be easily installed and accurately recognize a fire site and the surrounding situation when the fire occurs.

SOLUTION: A passing vehicle monitoring system 1 comprises a plurality of monitoring cameras 2 which are connected in a daisy chain manner and photograph vehicle passing conditions, and a center device 4 connected to the plurality of monitoring cameras. Each of the monitoring cameras 2 comprises: a plurality of first photographing sections 21n for normal photographing; one or more second photographing sections 21r for infrared photographing; a solid measuring section 23 for generating distance image data from a plurality of images; a basic monitoring section 24 based on the distance image; a memory 27; a measure and record processing section for generating identification information on a vehicle recognized based on the distance image and recording information including the identification information and time information about the recognized vehicle on the memory; an additional monitoring section 25 which performs different monitoring processing from that of the basic monitoring section based on the distance image; and a determining section 26 for starting the second photographing sections based on the distance image generated from the plurality of images obtained by the first photographing sections.
