WIRE WITH TERMINAL FITTING, AND MANUFACTURING METHOD FOR WIRE WITH TERMINAL FITTING

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wire with a terminal fitting that has excellent waterproofness.

SOLUTION: The wire 1 with a terminal fitting comprises a wire 2, a terminal fitting 3, a water proofing wall 4 and a water proofing coating 5. The core wire 21 is exposed from an insulation layer 22 at the terminal part of the wire 2, and the core wire 21 portion is mounted on the bottom plate 31 of the terminal fitting 3 and crimped by a wire barrel 32. A marginal part 36 exists on the distal end side of the core wire 21 and the water proofing wall 4 is formed at that part. The water proofing wall 4 consists of a resin workpiece 41 processed into a prescribed shape and having a surface adhesive to a metal. The resin workpiece 41 is provided to be fitted to the inside of the bottom plate 31 in the marginal part 36. The water proofing coating 5 is cylindrical and the opening end 51 on the distal end side adheres to surround the water proofing wall 4 and the bottom plate 31 at a part for receiving the water proofing wall 4, and the opening end 52 on the rear side adheres to surround the insulation layer 22 at the root of the core wire 21.
