<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent dust from entering an optical scanner. <P>SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus 10 comprises a main body 20 and a cover body 30. The cover body 30 holds an optical scanner 50 and is rotatable against the main body 20 between an open position and a close position. The optical scanner 50 includes a shutter member 60, a housing 58 and dust-proof members 585 and 586. The main body 20 has contact members 21 and 22 that may be brought into contact with the shutter member 60 through openings 583 and 584 of the housing 58. The contact members 21 and 22 change the position of the shutter member 60 between an optical path blocking position and an optical path opening position. The shutter member 60 includes blocking portions 65 and 66 for blocking the openings 583 and 584 when it is in the optical path blocking position. The dust-proof members 585 and 586 are disposed around the outer circumferences of the openings 583 and 584 and are in close contact entirely around the contact members 21 and 22 when the cover body 30 is in the close position. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
