<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the occurrence of an image failure by grasping the local conditions of a drum at the end part of a charging roller. <P>SOLUTION: An image forming device comprises: an image carrier; charging means; current value measuring means for measuring an electrification current flowing to the charging means; exposure means for exposing the image carrier; a holding member for movably holding the charging means in a predetermined range in the axis direction; and control means for controlling each of the means. The current value measuring means measures a current value after exposing a part of the image carrier corresponding to the end position of the charging means by exposure means. When the difference between the current values measured before and after the image forming operation by the current value measuring means exceeds a first reference value, the control means moves the position of the charging means with respect to the image carrier by moving the holding member. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
