<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact optical scanning device capable of sufficiently correcting fθ characteristics, field curvature and various other aberrations, and to provide an image forming apparatus using the same. <P>SOLUTION: In the optical scanning device which has light source means 1, an incident optical system LA for guiding a luminous flux having been emitted from the light source means to deflection means, and an imaging optical system including an imaging optical element LB for converting the luminous flux having been deflected on a deflection surface 5 of the deflection means 4 into images on a surface 7 to be scanned, a space between the deflection surface 5 and the surface 7 to be scanned of the deflection means 4 in an optical axis direction of the imaging optical system is represented by L (mm), a space between the deflection surface 5 and a natural convergence point of the deflection means 4 is represented by Sd (mm), an effective scanning field angle is represented by θa(rad), a maximum scanning field angle in an effective scanning region is represented by θmax(rad), an fθ coefficient is represented by K (mm/rad), and an arbitrary scanning field angle is represented by θ(rad), and each of them are appropriately set. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
